Keynote speaker
Timothy Owens brings a blend of his 23 years in law enforcement with his expertise in Organizational Development in the private sector. He has a passion for developing engaged workforces so people smile on their way into work as well as on their way out each day. Tim attended the prestigious FBI National Academy for Law Enforcement Executive Leadership while he was a Lieutenant in the NY State Police. He also conducted numerous investigations regarding sexual harassment, workplace violence, and other rule violations. He also coached new supervisors in the field to develop future leaders. Over the years he responded to major events such as the Hurricane Katrina Response in Louisiana, 9/11, PGA Tournaments, and VIP Dignitary Protection details. Since retiring from law enforcement, Tim earned his SHRM-SCP certification in Human Resources and is currently Director of Organization Development at Leonard’s Express, a large transportation company based in the Rochester area. In this capacity he has continued to develop programs and procedures for the company such as a new supervisor training program, enhanced employee onboarding processes, and breaking down communication barriers between internal departments. His enthusiastic approach to tackling workplace challenges sets him apart from those who like the status quo.
