School Entrance Control Vestibule
Students, faculty, and visitors must walk through the entrance control vestibule, which includes metal detection sensors, before being allowed access to the building. The vestibule, typically encased in bullet-resistant glass, provides the first line of defense when someone is trying to bring a weapon in. Like a screening device at the airport, the vestibule is designed to prevent someone from bringing a firearm or other potentially dangerous weapon into the building.

STEP Up School Security Initiative
Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created the STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in schools. Convergint launches this program on June 8, 2018 by going out into local communities and providing 8 underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
