Convergint’s STEP Up initiative launched this year with the goal of strengthening K-12 school security, with a focus on underserved local communities. On Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day in June of 2018, colleagues across the nation updated and installed security systems in eight schools. In addition to security upgrades, Convergint has provided a security checklist, available online to everyone, which lists out all of the important elements to consider for school safety checks during the summer.
Convergint colleagues volunteered their time and materials to install a new video intercom, an entry system, and landscaping at Finch, Perkerson, and Margaret Fain APS elementary schools. Read more below from Talk Up ASP, Atlanta Public School’s official blog.
“Words simply cannot explain how important it is to work with people who care about educating our students and staff.”

About STEP Up
Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
