I have nearly 20 years of experience in airport public safety and security, with a focus on technologies that enhance day-to-day operations, incident management, and terminal evacuation and recovery. I have also supported the implementation and integration of numerous multi-million-dollar projects. As such, my understanding of DHS, CBP, FAA, and TSA mandates is well-honed. I recently joined Convergint as the National Business Development Manager of Aviation where I lead an outstanding team with expertise in airport operations, network engineering, and program/project management. Together we are focused on delivering technologies and solutions that support the goals and objectives of the airports we serve on a global scale.

Aviation security threats can evolve rapidly and manifest themselves in different forms. Due to the vast nature of threats the aviation industry faces, it can be difficult to stay ahead of the curve. One of the biggest challenges the aviation team faces is TSA/FAA compliance, as a result of ever-changing requirements. Secondly, with the increase of automated, unmanned systems in airports, such as ticketing and baggage operations, there has been an uptick in cyber threats which can impact airports and airlines. The hurdles to aviation security are compounded by:

The most significant opportunities in the aviation industry right now are provided by technologies that enhance airport passenger and stakeholder experiences, improve day-to-day operations, and/or maximize safety and security. Enhancing the airport’s situational awareness and common operating picture within an “integrated Operations Center” is another area of opportunity.
