On Thursday 14th of July, Convergint UK had their annual Town Hall Meeting in London. Colleagues travelled from all over the UK to catch up with each other, meet for the first time, and welcome new colleagues who joined Convergint during the December 2021 acquisition of Universal Security Systems. The meeting saw updates from each department, showing what has been achieved this year, where the UK is heading in the future, and acknowledging colleagues for their hard work and dedication.
Convergint was built on a solid foundation of Values and Beliefs. Before Convergint was legally formed, before they received one order, and hired one colleague, Leadership decided on the principles that would eventually become Convergint’s Values and Beliefs. One of the Values and Beliefs is ‘We promote fun and laughter on a daily basis.’
At the Town Hall meeting, Convergint UK colleagues embraced this Value and Belief and had some funny sketches planned. One sketch was a dating show concept where an Account Executive had to pick a Project Managed by blindly asking them different questions from behind a screen. This lifted the whole mood of the Convergint UK colleagues and provided a lot of laughter.
The women of Convergint were also recognised within the presentations. The presentation was paused for a round of applause to acknowledge women in security. Convergint believes strongly in Inclusion & Diversity and within Convergint’s affinity groups is Convergint Women Connect. Convergint has a mission to be the most equitable and inclusive global service provider for women of all identities and backgrounds.
The purpose of the group is to evolve Convergint’s culture through advocacy, education, community, and visibility, and Convergint’s goal is threefold: to increase the number of women and women leaders at Convergint, to lift the voices of underrepresented women, and to make Convergint an inclusive environment for all women.
This meeting was uplifting for Convergint UK colleagues. The atmosphere was amazing and seeing colleagues being recognised for their hard work made attendees feel empowered and want to strive to be the best they can be.
