Convergint’s affinity group for women, Convergint Women Connect, aims to evolve Convergint’s culture through advocacy, education, community, and visibility. Their mission is to make Convergint the most equitable and inclusive global service provider for women of all identities and backgrounds. Through visibility, CWC’s goal is to foster an environment that lifts underrepresented voices within Convergint and the industry through initiatives focused on recognition and networking. To recognize and celebrate women across Convergint Nation, Convergint Women Connect has created the Daily Difference Award.

The Daily Difference Award is a peer-nominated recognition award given to women at Convergint who make a daily difference by representing one of the company’s most deeply-held Values and Beliefs: I have integrity–it’s what I do when no one’s watching.

Last quarter, Colleen Tucker was one of three Daily Difference Award recipients, recognized for her unwavering commitment to going above and beyond for both customers and colleagues. Tell us a little bit about your career with Convergint.

I joined Convergint from an acquisition on April 1st, 2015, so my 10-year anniversary is coming up next spring! Before that, I worked at GS Security Systems and Barry Security, starting in 1999. My career in security wasn’t planned—I had originally worked as an Accounts Receivable Supervisor at a hotel after college.

In 2004, a former colleague from a previous company reached out to me about an office manager role at GS Security, and I decided to make the move. That’s how I transitioned into the security industry. Eventually, GS Security was acquired by Convergint, which led me to my current role here!

You won the Daily Difference Award based on your ongoing commitment to Convergint’s V&B: I have integrity–it’s what I do when no one’s watching. What does this value mean to you?

For me, it’s about handling things behind the scenes and finding the answers I need on my own, without always having to ask others for help. I’m given the freedom to take ownership and get what I need, which allows me to feel confident in the decisions I make.

What is your favorite food?

I definitely have a sweet tooth, so my favorite food has to be baklava. It’s the perfect mix of sweetness and crunch—absolutely irresistible!

What is your secret to making a daily difference?

To make a daily difference, I focus on staying positive, no matter the circumstances. Maintaining a positive mindset helps me stay resilient, even when things aren’t going as planned.

Additionally, I make it a point to complete tasks thoroughly every day. I can’t stand leaving things unfinished, so I ensure I handle everything from start to finish, making sure nothing is overlooked. It’s all about consistency and attention to detail, day in and day out.
