Dan Murphy
Principal Consultant, 360 Security Services and Co-Host of Podcast “Gold Shields”
Dan Murphy is a highly accomplished security, investigations, and law enforcement professional with an outstanding 35+ year career. He is a seasoned leader, author (“Workplace Safety: Establishing an Effective Violence Prevention Program”, 2015 Butterworth-Heinemann), educator, and sought-after speaker and subject matter expert on various topics including workplace violence prevention and response program development, global security, international travel safety and security, physical security, executive protection, and financial fraud investigative techniques. He is currently serving as Principal Consultant to 360 Security Services in Minneapolis, MN.
Dan Murphy is a retired Detective-Sergeant from the New York City Police Department where he served for twenty years. His accomplishments there include 16 years as either a Detective or Detective-Sergeant serving in units such as the Narcotics Division, the Organized Crime Investigation Division, the Major Case Squad, the Bronx Gang Investigations Squad, and ultimately the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), after 9-11. His areas of expertise included Federal RICO investigations of violent gangs, kidnapping, human trafficking, bank robbery, and counterterrorism. He has served in the private sector as Director of Corporate Security for SuperValu and as Chief Security Officer for US Bancorp.
Dan was a first responder to the terror attacks of both February 26, 1993, and September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center. He has also performed undercover work in Southeast Asia while working in a task force with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. After leaving the NYPD Dan worked for The Bank of New York as a Financial Crimes and Fraud Investigator, targeting possible terrorist financing schemes. Dan is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI).
Tony graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) of Troy, New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Management Engineering. He has spent 7 years in the physical security industry – all with Convergint. Tony was the first graduate of the Convergint Development Program in 2015. He then spent 6 years as an Account Executive supporting some of Convergint’s largest and most complex enterprise clients.
Tony joined Convergint’s Digital Transformation team in 2022 and is responsible for helping companies navigate the technology evolution taking place in the security industry. Tony has a special focus in Cloud Native Technologies, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Vision.

Heath Klein
Regional Director – Cybersecurity Services, Convergint
Heath Klein is a Regional Director for Cybersecurity Services with Convergint and is responsible for supporting cybersecurity programs. He has more than 30 years of experience providing solutions and services for complex integrated operational technology (OT) systems combined with evolving Edge technologies. He supports services designed to mitigate risk and improve the cybersecurity posture of security systems.
Heath Klein was previously a National Business Manager for Siemens Smart Infrastructure. He has worked in many different vertical markets which includes numerous healthcare customers leading the smart building and digital delivery of services for Siemens.
Shawn Murphy is a regional security leader for Convergint who takes a consultative approach to designing and executing security programs tailored to customer’s needs. With a degree in Computer Sciences focusing on cybersecurity and wireless technology, Shawn works with customers directly to design a tailored technology roadmap that pairs the customer’s vision with modern concerns within the security industry. Shawn’s approach has been utilized to execute complex projects within many critical verticals including federal government, transportation, data centers, and education focusing on sophisticated integrations and regulatory compliance.

Rob Nerpel
Regional Business Development Manager, Convergint
Rob Nerpel has been with Convergint since 2002 and was responsible for starting the fire alarm/mass notification division in multiple cities including: Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Columbus (OH), and others. Rob holds numerous code and product certifications including an FCC General Radio Operators License (GROL), NICET certification and is an Edward’s EST3 certified technician.
With over 25 years of mass notification experience going back to the terrorist attack at Khobar Tower (Saudi Arabia) in 1996, and its inception following the Khobar Tower Report, Rob worked on some of the nation’s first mass notification projects installed at military facilities in the late 1990s. In addition to business development roles at Convergint, Rob has worked as an independent code consultant assisting architects and developers on new construction and retrofit projects.
Rob is an SME for healthcare, higher education, and data center occupancies and a holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University.
